Facilities
BIOTROP’s fascilities i.e dormitories, conference hall, canteen, labs, green houses, library and classrooms. BIOTROP has 13 house for dormitories. BIOTROP Conference Hall is intended for conferences, seminars or scientific meetings purposes. BIOTROP provide the employee and guests with canteen to enjoy their lunch during visit time in BIOTROP. There are two labs in BIOTROP i.e Services lab and research lab. Services lab is open for diagnostic purposes, and research labs are chiefed by BIOTROP senior scientists for research purposes. There are biotechnology lab, silviculture lab, remote sensing lab, biosystematic lab and herbarium, microbiology lab, entomology lab and natural products lab. The greenhouse is a vital supporting unit to conduct researches under controlled condition for the importance in conducting researches, acclimatization of tissue culture seedlings and the training courses conducted by SEAMEO BIOTROP. BIOTROP library is providing the information and knowledge about tropical biology. Our library is completed by online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and Digital Library . Reading rooms are available for users during service hours and equipped with internet access via SEAMEO BIOTROP wireless network. Classrooms within BIOTROP compound are available for meeting purposes with small number of participants. There are several classrooms and computer labs available, they are: Jati Room; Matoa Room; Mahoni Room; Kenari Room; MIT Classrooms A and B. These fascilities are provided to support all BIOTROP’s activities.
